Our Story

About Our Ministry

For nearly three decades, Ron Thompson Jail & Prison Ministry has been a beacon of hope for those behind bars and their families throughout Central Florida.

Our Story

Ron Thompson Jail & Prison Ministry was founded in 1995 when Ron Thompson, a former businessman, felt called to serve those society had forgotten. After visiting a local jail for the first time, Ron witnessed the desperate need for hope, compassion, and spiritual guidance among the incarcerated population.

What started as weekly visits to a single facility has grown into a comprehensive ministry serving multiple correctional institutions across Central Florida. Our team of dedicated volunteers has touched thousands of lives, providing not just spiritual support but practical assistance for successful reintegration into society.

Today, we continue Ron's original vision: to see every person behind bars as someone worthy of love, redemption, and a second chance. Our ministry extends beyond prison walls to support families, provide reentry assistance, and work toward breaking the cycle of incarceration.
